The Idea: I want to show images that help to support the statement: Destruction is never destruction in the eyes of the destructor.
Where: I found the images on google
The Critics: Much of the presentation will rely on the concept of defamiliarlization. I must use the images I find to make the audience think about the content of the photos in a new light.
Reflection: When we decontruct something we always do it with the intention of creating something more beneficial, but being as every person and culture has a different interpretation of what is right and wrong, the act of destruction is often seen as a malicious attack.
The Critics 2: I think to really have my presentation land I need to be able to to touch on logos, pathos, and ethos. If I miss one I believe it greatly reduces my chance of successfully conveying my point.
Search: I thought of many desctructive acts that can be interpreted very differently depending on one's perspective. I tried to represent a wide spectrum in terms of variety and plan to make some personally offensive to my audience ot further prove my point.
Prezi: I plan on placing the photographs in the form of an exponentialing growing line, to represent the severity of the impact of the displayed destruction. Along with each image, I will place a bit of text giving what I interpret as the destuctors reasoning, with the following sentence: "This is not destruction".
Whats Next: I am yet to find an image that straightfowardly makes my claim, Im still looking for the perfect image.
My Point: People view acts of destruction as acs of malevolence, while their own acts can be seen the same by others; despite the fact that they might not see their actions as destruction at all.
